At Paradise Medical Center Dermatology Clinic in Miami, FL 33144, we provide comprehensive mole evaluations to monitor changes in size, shape, or color — catching potential skin cancers at their earliest, most treatable stage. Led by Dr. Teresa Moreno, DNP.
Schedule Your Mole CheckMost adults have between 10 and 40 moles, and while the vast majority are harmless, any mole can potentially develop into melanoma — the most dangerous form of skin cancer. Regular professional mole evaluations allow our dermatologists to detect concerning changes early, when treatment is most effective.
Our team uses advanced dermoscopy and systematic evaluation techniques to thoroughly assess every mole on your body. We serve patients from Westchester, Coral Gables, Doral, Kendall, and throughout Miami-Dade County.
High-magnification analysis of mole structures using polarized light dermoscopy for detailed evaluation.
Systematic evaluation for Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter, and Evolution.
Photographic tracking of moles over time to detect subtle changes that may indicate early skin cancer.
Enhanced surveillance for patients with dysplastic nevi (atypical moles) at higher risk for melanoma.
If a mole shows concerning features, we perform a precise biopsy for pathological analysis.
We teach you how to perform monthly self-examinations to monitor your moles between visits.
Watch for these warning signs: Asymmetry (one half doesn't match), Border irregularity (ragged edges), Color variation (multiple shades), Diameter larger than 6mm (pencil eraser size), and Evolving (any change in size, shape, or color). If you notice any of these, schedule an evaluation promptly.
Get a mole evaluated if it changes in size, shape, or color, has irregular borders, is asymmetrical, bleeds, or is new and looks different from your other moles.
Annual checks are recommended. If you have many moles, family history of melanoma, or atypical moles, more frequent monitoring every 3-6 months may be needed.
We examine moles using dermoscopy, assess against ABCDE criteria, document findings, and may recommend a biopsy if any mole appears suspicious.
